I purchased a pair of shoes at Platos closet fishers on May 16, 2020. I wore them for the first time on June 13, 2020 and I was out of town. They fell apart on my feet while I was inside of target walking around. Fortunately I was able to buy a pair of flip-flops to wear. When I got back in town on June 17, 2020 I called the store and asked if I could just get in-store credit. Employee told me no and I asked to speak with the manager because I was very upset. The employee hung up on me. I called back and asked to speak with the manager. When I called and spoke with the manager I let her know the employee was very rude and had hung up on me. She told me that the employee has a right to hang up on whoever they want if they feel the person is being rude. I apologized and told her I was not rude in anyway and I just had asked to speak to her. I explained again to her that I had worn the shoes one time and I have been out of town. She stated they have a strict 30 day return policy and it will not waiver. For someone who spends lots of money in the store a my mind is boggled. Horrible customer service!!!

They made me sad :(

There was an item I bought that had a price tag of $5 from H&M, but the Plato's tag said $6. I went to the desk to pay/resolve the issue, but the worker said that the Plato's tag ruled out any other pricing. Plato's Closet is supposed to mark down prices. They don't even follow their own promise.

User's recommendation: They do have great prices, but this instance really pissed me off.

Unfairness

I called plato's at 10am and they told me that they are buying shoes. I came after 5:00 and she said they couldn't do it. I feel like this should have been told to me cause I only had 3 pairs of shoes to sell which didn't come to much and they didn't even want to try. Now I have to go all the way home and come back cause they are not telling people they have no money before they come if that is the truth or not don't know. This is an inconvenience to me. Terrible Customer service

Took clothes in and was told to come back in 30 mins, didn't see any one in the store at that time, came back twice, second time it was over 30 mins and I had to knock on the door, to talk to an employee,, I told her i been waiting at least 30 mins, I will just take my merchandise back,, she went back in and started fiddling with clothes again,, there are a bunch of rude and unprofessional females in the Macon, Ga store, surprised this store is still in business,, I hate going over there!!!?

They are the worst. Went today to the one in Fairfield NJ, 9 items with tag still on and show them on the phone app when I bought them! And I only want to switch the size , after quarantine my size change! So now I have 9 items going to the trash ! Since the store will not switch them for me

Fed up

Im a past employee and Im fed up with how they treated me and my co workers. The store that I worked at made rude comments about my boyfriend (coworker) and mine mental health. Worked us nonstop, and wasnt getting paid enough for how we worked. The boss was completely rude, made comments about us behind my back, made comments about the smell of clothes calling it the poor smell and then laughing afterwards. I dont get how someone like that could be in charge. With COVID 19 also going on, they had 48 people in the store at a time, with a 14 people limit including employees. I dont get how they can do that and put me, and my co workers in a harms way. Masks were also not a thing for customers, said that you had to wear a mask on the door but if people came in without one they didnt do anything about it they let them walk around, and cough on everything. Im not happy about how I was treated there by the managers or the assistant managers. Absolutely terrible company there and I will never work or give my service to them again.

Visit

I went in to your store today, the Mechanicsville location in Virginia. I have shot there for a very long time period the girl behind the counter told me I needed to leave because I didn't have my mask 1. Explain to her that the governor's orders, and my doctor both said that I did not have to wear it because I had underlying condition. She said I'm sorry but you have to leave anyways I told her I was not going to leave I was in a shop and Aaron I would keep my distance and I would be out of there soon. She got very loud and was very ugly with me. She told Manny believe her store right now that her manager said actually nobody comes in that story that a mask. For any reason. I call the local sheriff's department Hanover sheriff's department and they came and they spoke with the young lady. I also am calling the health department because that is what they told me I should do. I hate to do this this is always been 1 of my very favorite stores to shop in but I was extremely humiliated by this worker and a way that she treated me. Please let me know if I can go back to that store or not and let me know if this is in any way taking care of.

Horrible service and unsanitary

During a global pandemic with the door reading that face masks are REQUIRED I walk in and to my surprise your employee was not wearing one nor was one in site for her to put on. I as a seller of my own clothes felt unsafe and disrespected to see one of the employees who already had the worst attitude making my experience unsafe. I am a healthcare worker and seeing that this girl had no care in the world for the customers was unsettling as I work on the frontline everyday to keep those with the coronavirus alive.

It's funny the ones that say they work on the front lines don't. Real heros don't use it as a soap box to lecture people that don't need to hear judgment.

Seriously grow up.

WHO has already stated masks are only used if handling a person who is actually sick. This has been known for days and makes you a front line liar.

I dropped two bags of clothes off on Sunday May 10. I was told by the sales associate they would text me when my offer was ready. No one ever texted. The next day Monday may 11, I called and spoke to someone I believed her name was Logan, I told her I was never contacted and she said I do have an offer and I was free to pick up the money. So today Tuesday may 12 I went to the store they told me it’s only same day pick up and if I’m not there the clothes are donated and I will not get my offer I was told I had. I informed her no one called and when I called the next day I was told to come pick it up. She said” I’m sure you were texted, sorry your clothes are gone. I can assure you I wasn’t contacted when my offer was ready and I was never told it was same day only pick up! I’m very upset with these business practices and would like the money I was told I had waiting on me. Allison terrill

Accused of Stealing

AngryI went to the Platos closet in Mobile Alabama to get my E cig that I had left in one of their dressing rooms... I walked in to get it one of the ladies told me that I cannot walk in without a face mask at that moment I did not have my my mask on because it was in my car but the lady at the front counter was nice and on just to go ahead and scoop me my E cig and I walked out the door to go getting my car... as soon as I got into my car all of the workers that was working at that time came to the front door grabbed her phone and started taking pictures of me in my car Ill look at them and I said what are yall doing One of the ladies that was there at the door opened it and said what did you steal and shut the door and locked it to try to keep me from going in!!!!! I was still sitting in my car and I opened my car door and I said I did not steal anything from your store I have my tags from my purse that I just bought from a different store in my hand thats all I have and I told her to look back on her cameras and she got smart and said oh I will. Then she told me that I was not allowed back at their store ever Because I took something But I did Not because I had a witness with me to prove that I did not steal anything from your store

Disappointed

Many expensive, name brand clothes were taken in to sell to Plato's Closet. Their excuse to not buy any of the clothes was there was too much wear and tear. Only one pair of pants had some wear. The True Religion jeans were brand new. When I asked for the clothes back, the acted very shocked. My guess is most people just leave the clothes and then Plato's sells them to be public at 100% profit. I have spent hundreds at Plato's in the past, but won't go back now.

I went into store to sell ymi levis bill a bong. Pink...all different styles of dresses shorts bathing suits. Was told to walk around store 45 minutes while they gave me a price I did..said wasn't finished I still continue to look around sat for awhile notice people coming and going kept looking at counter they just kept smiling finally I said I'll wait outside..then 30 minutes later I came back in they acted like they didn't remember me. I said I was the one that walked in at 9:30 2 hr s ago they said oh sorry we should've called but your stuff was outdated!!! I said excuse me!! My stuff was just pursued over last summer with some still tags!!! Sorry store in regency square Jacksonville fl...idiots working not friendly
